Printz Tone’s story stretches far beyond Clinton, NC. After graduating high school, he served
five years in the military — an experience that sent him across the world to places like Spain,
Greece, and Dubai. Seeing different cultures, rhythms, and ways of life broadened his
understanding of what music could be. More importantly, it taught him how songs can attach to
life moments. As Printz puts it, “My experiences have taught me that music is like a
timestamp… when the song is good, it takes you back.”
His newest single, “You Got Me,” reflects that global perspective in a simple, easygoing way.
Instead of overanalyzing or chasing trends, Printz leaned into a universal feeling: summertime.
“The song was inspired by the summertime and the feel you get from going out and
having fun,” he says. That energy is baked into the production, the melody, and the tone — light,
warm, and carefree. It’s a track designed to stick to a memory the same way songs stuck to his
during his travels. And ultimately, that’s the effect he wants: “I want my listeners to feel
good… it should almost make you want to dance a little.”
